Fully Funded UNESCO/Poland Co-Sponsored Fellowships in Engineering Science and Technology 2023

After a hiatus of over three years due to COVID, the UNESCO Fellowship is back and is now accepting online applications. Requirements

(i) UNESCO fellowship application forms, all four (4) pages, duly completed in English using capital letters. Illegible documents will be eliminated from the procedure. The handwriting form must include only capital letters.

(ii) Two photographs are attached to the applications (4 x 6 cm).

(iii) Certified copies (in English) of Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree/PhD obtained.

(iv) A UNESCO certificate of language knowledge, duly completed by a relevant authority, if the candidate’s mother tongue is not English.

(v) Two letters of recommendation from someone related to the candidate’s work, confirming the candidate’s qualifications.

(vi) The endorsed candidates should register themselves to the Fellowship e-registration system available on the page: http://www.unesco.agh.edu.pl/en/.

Facilities Offered by the Polish authorities

Free tuition and access to university facilities are based on local regulations.

monthly allowance of 1500 PLN for BSc degree students and 2200 PLN for MSc degree students (1 USD = approximately 4,40 PLN). Thus, all living expenses and accommodation in Poland are to be borne by the fellow with this allowance. 

A one-time special allowance of 1500 PLN for BSc degree students or 2200 PLN for MSc to be paid upon arrival in Poland. This sum will cover different activities related to your stay in Krakow, such as an obligatory medical check-up upon arrival (in accordance with the internal regulations for all students); cultural, historical and/or touristic visits, conferences, workshops, and seminars related to your studies.

Facilities Offered by UNESCO

Air travel ticket (the most direct and economical route) to and from Krakow, Poland;

Health insurance (up to 50,000US$ in accordance with EU requirements for Schengen visa) for fellowship beneficiaries who are declared medically fit;

one-time special pocket allowance amounting to 120 (one hundred and twenty) US dollars.

Visa

Fellows from countries with Polish embassies or consulates must obtain their entry visa to Poland before their departure. For fellows who come from countries without such an Embassy or Consulate, they need to secure their visa through the nearest Embassy or Consulate of the Republic of Poland.

Please note that UNESCO and the Government of the Republic of Poland do not provide any allowance to cover the expenses of a passport and visa. Therefore, selected beneficiaries will have to obtain and pay for their visas

Here are the instructions for applying to the program:

  1. Check if your country is among the list of 71 invited Member States (see Annex I) that are eligible to participate in the program.
  2. If you meet the conditions and requirements outlined in the announcement letter, you can select up to three projects from the 30 proposed projects and indicate their priority numbers.
  3. Contact your National Commission for UNESCO and submit the required documents for the application.
  4. If endorsed by your National Commission, register yourself in the Fellowship e-registration system found on the following webpage: http://www.unesco.agh.edu.pl/en/.
  5. Applications must be submitted by the invited Member State through their National Commission before midnight (Central Europe time) on 28 April 2023. They should be sent to the following email addresses: f.pashayev@unesco.org; l.zas-friz@unesco.org; and unesco4@agh.edu.pl.
